Dr. Fazlul Huq is a distinguished scholar with a career spanning over five decades, recognized for his contributions to cancer research and drug discovery. As an Associate Professor at the University of Sydney’s School of Medical Sciences, he spearheaded innovative research on tumor-active metal complexes, drug-DNA interactions, and synergistic drug combinations aimed at overcoming platinum resistance in ovarian and colorectal cancers. Dr. Huq earned his PhD in Chemical Crystallography from University College London and held several prestigious roles, including ARC Postdoctoral Research Fellow and Group Leader of the Biomedical Science Cancer Research Group. He has authored over 312 peer-reviewed publications, accumulated more than 3,015 citations, and successfully supervised 26 PhD and 5 master’s students. A member of esteemed organizations such as the Royal Society of Chemistry, Dr. Huq’s legacy is defined by impactful teaching, pioneering research, and influential mentorship, leaving an indelible mark on the global scientific community.
