Eman Research Academic (ERA) is continuously expanding its publishing infrastructure and global research network. We invite talented professionals, researchers, and publishing specialists to join our mission of strengthening scientific communication and advancing global research collaboration.

Below are some of the positions currently available within ERA’s publishing, editorial, and technology teams.

1. Full Stack Software Engineer (Digital Publishing Platform)

Location: Remote / Hybrid
Employment Type: Full-time
Salary Range: $70,000 – $110,000 per year (depending on experience)

Role Overview

ERA is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to help develop and maintain the digital infrastructure that supports our scholarly publishing ecosystem. This role will contribute to the development of manuscript submission systems, editorial management platforms, and research discovery tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain ERA’s publishing and journal management systems

  • Improve platform performance, security, and scalability

  • Integrate digital publishing standards such as metadata indexing and DOI systems

  • Work with editorial teams to optimize submission and peer-review workflows

  • Build APIs and backend systems supporting article publishing and research discovery

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with full stack development (React, Node.js, Python, or similar)

  • Familiarity with digital publishing platforms or content management systems

  • Experience working with databases and scalable cloud infrastructure

  • Interest in academic publishing and open science initiatives

2. Software Engineer – Research Infrastructure

Location: Remote
Employment Type: Full-time or Contract
Salary Range: $60,000 – $95,000 per year

Role Overview

This role focuses on building research infrastructure tools that support manuscript processing, article indexing, and scholarly communication systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop tools supporting research metadata management

  • Build integrations with indexing platforms and research databases

  • Support long-term digital preservation infrastructure

  • Collaborate with editorial and publishing teams to improve publishing workflows

Skills Required

  • Experience with backend development

  • API development and database management

  • Knowledge of digital publishing standards and metadata systems is a plus

3. Editorial Assistant (Academic Publishing)

Location: Remote
Employment Type: Full-time / Part-time
Salary Range: $35,000 – $55,000 per year

Role Overview

The Editorial Assistant supports the editorial workflow of ERA journals, assisting with manuscript processing, reviewer coordination, and editorial communications.

Responsibilities

  • Manage manuscript submissions and editorial correspondence

  • Assist editors with reviewer invitations and manuscript tracking

  • Ensure manuscripts follow journal formatting and policy guidelines

  • Support copyediting and production preparation

5. Business Development and Partnerships Manager

The Business Development Manager will lead ERA’s global partnerships with universities, research institutions, academic societies, and research networks.

Responsibilities

  • Develop institutional partnerships with universities and research organizations

6. Academic Editors (Volunteer Academic Role)

Position Type: Academic Service Role
Compensation: Honorary position (non-salaried)

Role Overview

ERA invites experienced researchers and academics to join our editorial teams as Academic Editors. Editors oversee the peer-review process, evaluate manuscripts, and contribute to maintaining the scientific quality of ERA journals.

Responsibilities

  • Manage peer review for submitted manuscripts

  • Select qualified reviewers within relevant disciplines

  • Provide editorial recommendations and decisions

  • Contribute to the strategic development of the journal

Editors benefit from increased academic visibility and participation in the development of an international scholarly journal.

7. Peer Reviewers (Volunteer Academic Role)

Position Type: Academic Service Role
Compensation: Honorary position (non-salaried)

ERA welcomes researchers and subject-matter experts to join our reviewer community. Peer reviewers play an essential role in maintaining the quality and integrity of scholarly publishing by providing constructive feedback on submitted manuscripts.

Reviewers receive formal recognition for their contributions and gain opportunities to collaborate with international editorial boards.

8. Academic Collaboration and Outreach Coordinator

Location: Remote
Employment Type: Full-time / Contract
Salary Range: $50,000 – $80,000 per year

Role Overview

This role focuses on expanding ERA’s global network of researchers, institutions, and academic collaborators.

Responsibilities

  • Build relationships with universities and research institutes

  • Coordinate editorial board recruitment and academic partnerships

  • Support international research events and scholarly communication initiatives
