About the Editor-in-Chief
Professor Saúl Blanco Lanza is a distinguished ecologist and limnologist at the University of León, Spain, widely recognized for his contributions to diatom ecology, environmental biotechnology, aquatic microbiology, and wastewater bioremediation. He leads interdisciplinary research integrating microbial ecology, algal-bacterial systems, biomonitoring, and sustainable environmental technologies. With thousands of citations and extensive international collaborations, Professor Blanco has authored numerous influential publications in high-impact journals including Bioresource Technology, Hydrobiologia, Environmental Science & Technology, and Microbial Ecology. His research significantly advances understanding of aquatic microbial diversity, ecological assessment, algal biotechnology, and environmental sustainability.
