Abstract
Background: Achieving global net-zero emissions by the middle of this century requires the fast development of renewable energy systems. Technology improvements together with declining costs have driven increased renewable energy technology adoption but multiple countries experience financial and regulatory barriers that stop their implementation. The successful achievement of net-zero targets requires precise comprehension of public renewable energy adoption patterns. Method: A random selection of 100 participants from diverse backgrounds completed the survey to assess their renewable energy knowledge along with their views on its value and obstacles to adoption and investment plans. The research employed descriptive statistics to display results through percentage and frequency data. Result: The survey findings demonstrated 54% of respondents had "very aware" knowledge about renewable energy and 78% considered it fundamental for net-zero target achievement. The main advantages of environmental protection (82%) and reduced energy costs (66%) were identified by most people. The primary obstacles to installation were high costs (71%) and insufficient government incentives (58%). A majority of people (64%) showed interest in investing in renewable energy projects during the following five years. The main obstacles to renewable energy adoption remain financial constraints together with unstable policies and insufficient technical expertise. Conclusion: The deployment of renewable energy will accelerate dramatically if authorities implement specific incentives together with simplified regulations and public education efforts which will establish it as a primary strategy for reaching net-zero emissions.
