What Are Focus Collections?

Focus Collections are invitation-based or open-call article series centered on a specific research theme. Each theme is carefully selected to reflect:

  • Rapid scientific or technological advancements

  • High societal or industrial relevance

  • Emerging global challenges

  • Critical knowledge gaps where concentrated research is urgently needed

Each collection is guided by an appointed Lead Collection Editor, supported by a team of expert Co-Editors. They define the scope, coordinate contributions, oversee peer review, and ensure academic excellence throughout.

1. Solicited Expert Collections

Each collection is developed and managed by a Collection Editor Team who:

  • Define the theme and scope

  • Invite contributors and oversee submissions

  • Manage peer review

  • Ensure quality, clarity, and scientific significance

  • Guide the final synthesis and thematic framing

Submission Pathways

Two routes are available:

  • Invited Contributions – from renowned researchers and established experts

  • Open Submissions – any researcher may submit, provided the manuscript fits the scope and meets quality standards

Peer Review & Publication Workflow

  • Every submission undergoes rigorous peer review, following the same standards as Eman Research journals

  • Articles are published immediately upon acceptance

  • Collections remain open for a defined duration, set by editors (flexible timelines)

  • Once a collection reaches a critical mass, it can be published as a Thematic Issue or Open Access E-Book

As a Collection Editor, you will:

Eligibility to Serve as a Collection Editor

  • PhD or MD
  • Minimum three years of postdoctoral research experience
  • Strong publication record in the relevant area
