Dr. Abdullah completed his Ph.D. from The University of Manchester in 1984. His research interests in the following areas:

He is a member of Manchester Technologist Society, UNDP Fellow, Member of BJRI managing comity, Life time Senate member DU, Advisory Council of BCSIR, Bangladesh Chemical Society, Bangladesh Association of Scientists and Scientific Profession, Life member. Member of ITET, Textile Institute (Manchester)(Old), Dyers and Colourist (Old),Pat Gobasiona Somity.
