Editorial: The Importance of “Livestock Research Today” in Food Security and Safety

Abstract

The livestock industry is fundamental to global food systems, playing a crucial role in nutritional security, economic stability, and sustainable development. Nevertheless, increasing demands for food production, together with environmental and public health issues, need revolutionary research and innovation to maintain the viability and equity of livestock systems. This editorial analyzes the complex function of livestock research in fulfilling the twin objectives of food security and safety, highlighting progress in productivity, sustainability, and disease control.
